<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wireless communications system and a method of controlling a tilt angle of a transmission antenna of a macro base station, capable of reducing interference from the macro base station and improving the throughput. <P>SOLUTION: A wireless communications system includes a macro base station 10 and a femto base station. The macro base station 10 has: a reception antenna 16; a transmission antenna consisting of a plurality of transmission antenna elements 15a to 15n; and variable phase shifters 14a to 14n varying phases of the plurality of transmission antenna elements 15a to 15n depending on tilt angle control information to change a tilt angle of the transmission antenna; a reception power measurement part 17 measuring reception signal power of a signal received at the reception antenna 16; a user distribution calculation part 18 calculating a user distribution in a coverage based on the reception signal power; and a phase shift controller 19 deciding the tilt angle of the transmission antenna based on the user distribution, and outputting the tilt angle control information to the variable phase shifters 14a to 14n. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
