<p>The invention relates to the use of copolymers as tackifiers for adhesives containing one or more base polymers, one or more tackifiers, optionally one or more fillers and optionally one or more additives, characterized in that the copolymers used as tackifiers can be obtained by radically initiated polymerization of: a) one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from the group comprising vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, methacrylate and styrene; b) 5 to 60 wt% of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from the group comprising vinyl esters of branched or unbranched alkyl carboxylic acids with 3 to 15 C atoms and acrylic acid esters or methacrylic acid esters of branched or unbranched alcohols with 2 to 22 C atoms; and c) 0.5 to 15 wt% of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers containing at least one functional group selected from the group comprising sulphonic acid, sulphuric acid, phosphonic acid or carboxylic acid groups or the salts of said acids, carboxylic acid anhydride groups, hydroxy groups, silicon-functional groups and amino or ammonium groups, the specifications of wt% each relating to the total weight of the respective copolymer.</p> |
