Provided is a method for linkage between a mobile terminal and an external AV system, which reduces battery consumption of the mobile terminal or prevents a wrong input to the mobile terminal in a linkage method for copying an output signal of a mobile terminal, such as audio, video, and the like, to an external AV system. According to the present invention, the method for linkage between a mobile terminal and an external AV system comprises the steps of: connecting a link for copying a screen displayed on a mobile terminal to a display of an external AV system; and turning off a display of the mobile terminal without a user input, and transmitting data on a screen to be displayed on the display of the mobile terminal to the external AV system through the link.
