<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high quality polyurethane from the transesterification reaction of a polycarbamate with a polyhydroxy compound in a relatively short time. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyurethane, comprising transesterifying the polycarbamate with the polyhydroxy compound in the presence of a transesterification catalyst comprising a titanium alkoxide compound and one or more polybasic carboxylic acid compounds selected from the group consisting of unsaturated polybasic carboxylic acids and hydroxy polybasic carboxylic acids, wherein in the transesterification catalyst, the polybasic carboxylic acids are contained in an amount of 0.5 to 4 mol per mol of titanium atoms. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
