The present invention relates to a display device and an image processing method thereof. The display device comprises: a display unit; a decoding unit which decodes an image by the minimum coded unit (MCU); a scaler which scales the decoded image to be corresponded to the resolution of the display unit; a memory unit wherein the scaled image is stored; and a control unit which controls the display unit to display the scaled image and sets an arbitrary approach unit (RAU) for the image and stores image information corresponding to the RAU in the memory unit. Therefore, quick image processing can be possible while maintaining the image quality of a magnified image even if the image in which the decoding and scaling are completed is magnified. Moreover, it is realized with small memory capacitance.
