<p>A stand 10 for holding dental burs or drill bits has a base 12 and a lid 14, each of which has spaced projections 18 designed to engage with complementary spaces 16 between the projections of the other part. Blind bores 20 at the ends of the protrusions receive the dental burs. Preferably the projections engage to form a continuous cylindrical wall around the circumference of the stand. The projections may taper to a flat tip 19 and have three inclined triangular side surfaces A,B,C on the inside of the stand and a vertical triangular surface on the outside. After use, a burr may be discarded into a central well 15. The base and lid may be identical and interchangeable and may incorporate a fastening to secure them together for sterilisation of the container and the used burs stored within it.</p> |
