摘要 A transmitting apparatus is provided for transmitting signals in a multi carrier system, in which pilot signals and data mapped on frequency carriers are transmitted in a transmission bandwidth, wherein a part of the transmission bandwidth is not used to transmit signals. The apparatus includes a pilot signal mapper for mapping pilot signals onto selected frequency carriers according to a pilot pattern that is adapted for a channel estimation in a corresponding receiving apparatus, the pilot pattern enabling a channel estimation for frequency carriers next to the part of the transmission bandwidth that is not used to transmit signals.

A transmitting apparatus for transmitting signals in a multi-carrier system, in which pilot signals and data mapped on frequency carriers are transmitted in a transmission bandwidth, wherein a part of said transmission bandwidth is not used to transmit signals, comprising: a pilot signal mapper configured to map pilot signals onto frequency carriers according to a pilot pattern that is adapted for a channel estimation in a corresponding receiving apparatus, and to shift the pilot pattern in the frequency dimension so that a channel estimation for frequency carriers next to said part of said transmission bandwidth that is not used to transmit signals is possible, wherein the pilot signal mapper is configured to shift the pilot pattern in the frequency dimension so that at least one of the pilot signals in the pilot pattern is located on a frequency carrier that is immediately adjacent to said part of the transmission bandwidth that is not used to transmit signals.
