A leak-proof cell has a plastics casing 8, the folded-over portions 13 being castellated so that no portion overlaps any other portion. The case is sealed at the bottom with a ring 15 exerting inwardly radial pressure. A metal contact disc 14 is also secured by the ring 15, but in a further embodiment this is dispensed with and the electrode I is suitably shaped at the end to project beyond the casing. The top is sealed by a plastics disc 9 under pressure from a disc 12. |
