Cutting blades, not shown, are clamped between fixed jaw .101 and movable jaw 6 by pressure from a series of screws 12, the pressure being rendered uniformly distributed to avoid distorting the blades by using bridges 9 acting on an intermediate ibar 8 which tilts about a bar 16 to place a distributed force on the jaw 6 through another bar 7. The screws 10 act on heads,10 which are guided on rods 11. The bar 7 may be hollow or peripherally grooved to enhance its elasticity.
