FIELD: continuous hot rolling process including stages of slitting rolled piece for producing rods and strips. ^ SUBSTANCE: it is possible to provide enlarged range of types and dimensions by continuous rolling of billet for producing first rolled piece having at least first and second segments mutually joined through intermediate bridge while surface area of second segment exceeds that of first segment; by cutting bridge for dividing first and second segments and simultaneously rolling divided segments for producing articles with different cross section surface areas. It is possible to roll first and second segments for producing second rolled piece having third segments with similar surface areas of its cross section mutually joined through second intermediate bridge. Second intermediate bridge is cut for dividing third segments then subjected to rolling for producing ready articles. First and second segments may be rolled in separate second and third rolling lines. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of rolling mill. ^ 3 cl, 6 dwg |
