[Also in Division F2] A first metal tube 2 is connected to the end of a second metal tube 2 at right angles thereto by a screw 6, 5, 4 and a plug 3 welded or soldered in the end of the second tube, the screw comprising a threaded portion 4 that passes through a hole 8 in the first tube and is threaded into the plug 3, an enlarged cylindrical portion 5 that passes through an enlarged hole 7 in the first tube, and a slotted or like head 6. A table leg assembly (Fig. 1) comprises four T-shaped elements each made by welding or soldering a vertical tube (1) to a horizontal tube 2, and the horizontal tubes are connected by the screwed joint of Fig. 2. The elements may each have two horizontal tubes. The tubing is of square, round, or rectangular section. A glass plate table top may be provided. |
