<p>A sheet containing active agents and activated, carbonized fibrillated fibers having a microbiological interception enhancing agent on at least a portion of at least some of said fibrillated fibers, wherein prior to carbonization the fibrillated fibers have a Canadian Standard Freeness of less than 100. The microbiological interception enhancing agent contain a biologically active metal precipitated with a counter ion of a cationic material that is adsorbed on at least portion of the fibrillated fibers to form a metal colloidal complex on a portion of a surface of at least some of the activated, carbonized fibrillated fibers. The active agents being entangled within the activated, carbonized fibrillated fibers throughout the thickness of the sheet.</p> |
