<p>PURPOSE: A shock absorption type steering column of a vehicle is provided to improve the efficiency of the shock energy absorption of a steering column by smoothly forming a collapse while obtaining a collapse distance of the steering column in collision with the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorption type steering column of a vehicle comprises an upper tube(307), a lower tube(309), an auxiliary power device(120), and a rolling support member. The upper tube and the lower tube obtain a collapse distance of the auxiliary power device and a mounting bracket(311) connected to the upper tube in collision of the vehicle. The lower tube is formed by enlarging the diameter of a lower end part. The auxiliary power device is connected to a lower part of the lower tube. The rolling support member is connected between the lower end part of the lower tube and a steering shaft(305). A housing cover(320) of the auxiliary power device is connected to the lower end of an outer peripheral side of the lower tube.</p> |
