Magnetic recording medium, manufacturing method, and use thereof

A magnetic recording medium includes a nonmagnetic substrate provided on which are, in the order recited; an underlayer; a magnetic layer; a protective layer comprised of carbon; and a lubricating layer composed of a lubricant mixture composed of a lubricant represented by Formula (I) below;where m is an integer equal to or greater than 1, and R1 and R2 are divalent straight chains consisting of both —CH2 CF2 — or both —CH2 CF2CF2—; and
a lubricant represented by Formula (II) below;where p and q are integers equal to or greater than 0, provided that p =q =0 is excluded. A method of manufacturing the magnetic recording medium is likewise disclosed.

a nonmagnetic substrate provided on which are, in the order recited; an underlayer; a magnetic layer; a protective layer comprised of carbon; and a lubricating layer comprised of:
a lubricant mixture comprising a lubricant represented by Formula (I) below where m is an integer equal to or greater than 1, and R1 and R2 are divalent straight chains consisting of both -CH2 CF2— or both —CH2 CF2CF2 —; and
a lubricant represented by Formula (II) below where p and q are integers equal to or greater than 0, provided that p=q=0 is excluded.
