A game system is composed of a TV, a hand-held game machine, and a game apparatus, for example. The TV displays second game screens which respectively correspond to second to fourth characters, each of the second game screens displaying only a limited extent of the game space. When a predetermined condition is satisfied, an operable character for a player is switched from a first character to a second character. Since different extents of game space are displayed for different characters, an interesting game can be provided.

1. A method implemented by one or more digital information units of a video game system for displaying different viewing perspectives corresponding to each of a plurality of game characters upon a plurality of display devices, the method comprising:
displaying at least a first game screen providing a broad viewing perspective image of a game space surrounding a first game character on a first display device contained in a game operation apparatus, and displaying, on a separate second display device, a plurality of game screens each of which provide a separate individual viewing perspective image of a narrow partial game space surrounding a game character for each of a plurality of additional game characters, wherein a viewing perspective image of a narrow partial game space encompasses a smaller range of the game space than said broad viewing perspective, and each of said plurality of separate individual viewing perspective images are displayed simultaneously together on said separate second display device.
