<p>The present invention relates to a protective relay. More specifically, the protective relay is capable of: promptly and flexibly responding to an accident by reducing a trip counter which determines relaying operation and relaying return due to inverse time; and allowing suitable relaying operation and relaying return for circumstances in an accident by increasing/decreasing the trip counter inversely proportional to a size of a relaying element, thereby improving lifespan and efficiency of a protective device including a relay. Also, the protective relay can be widely and flexibly applied to the protective device with return properties as well as operation properties, thereby preparing itself against various accidents. The protective relay comprises: a detecting unit to detect a relaying element which is an operation base of a relay; a calculating unit to control increase/decrease of a trip counter which displays a time limit for relaying operation and relaying return based on detection results detected by the detecting unit; and an operating unit to perform the relaying operation and the relaying return based on the increase/decrease of the trip counter.</p> |
