<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a heat source for image fixation, capable of saving heat source energy.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1001 comprises drawing means for drawing images on relatively moving sheets and thermally fixes the images. The image forming apparatus 1001 comprises: a plurality of heat sources 1007, 1008, 1009 and 1010 arrayed in a direction crossing a moving direction; acquisition means 1011, 1012, 1013 and 1014 that acquire information about temperatures in a direction crossing the moving direction of heated regions by the plurality of heat sources; determination means that determines heat sources that have a possibility of reducing heating values, from among the plurality of heat sources; and control means that controls individually the heating values of the plurality of heat sources. The determination means determines the heat sources that have a possibility of reducing the heating values, on the basis of information about regions in which images are not drawn, which is determined from at least one of width size of the sheets and data of images to be formed, and the control means controls the heating values of the heat sources.</p> |
