<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoding device capable of improving entire processing efficiency by shortening a processing time of a low-order data processor within an encoder.SOLUTION: The image encoding device comprises a color space converter, a frequency converter, a quantization unit, a coefficient prediction unit, an adaptive scanner, a VLC encoder 10, and a bit stream output unit. The VLC encoder 10 comprises: a high-order data processor 14 for executing extraction and encoding of high-order data; and a low-order data processor 20 for parallelly executing extraction and junction of low-order data. The low-order data processor 20 comprises a sign flag necessity parallel determination unit 25, a low-order data parallel junction unit 26, and a junction shift amount parallel computation unit 27.</p> |
