PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granular medium having a high Hk assist layer for micro wave assisted magnetic recording.SOLUTION: In an embodiment, a magnetic recording device includes at least one micro wave assisted magnetic recording (MAMR) head each containing a spin torque oscillator (STO); a magnetic recording medium; a driving mechanism for making the magnetic medium pass over the at least one MAMR head; and a control device which is electrically connected to the at least one MAMR head for controlling the at least one MAMR head. The magnetic recording medium includes a recording layer arranged directly or indirectly on a substrate, and an assist layer arranged on the recording layer. The recording layer contains at least Co, Pt, and oxide or oxygen. The assist layer is arranged closer to the at least one MAMR head, and contains at least Co and Pt. At least a part of the recording layer has an anisotropic magnetic field smaller than the assist layer. |
