[Also in Division H1] In a connector coupling a contact 63 to a bus-bar 65, operation of a handle which is attached to a pin 13 produces snap-action forward and rearward motion of an insulating block 61, which is rigidly secured to the contact 63, for quick-action making and breaking the coupling. Rotation of the handle acts through gears 15, 17, 25 to produce motion of a rack 29 between stops 67, 69. During the forward or rearward motion of the rack 29 spring-loaded toggles 41, 53, which are pivoted at 33, 35 to an end portion 31 of the rack 29 and which slidably engage blocks 43, 55 on slide frames 47, 57 secured to the block 61, are overthrown to thrust the contact 63 either into or out of the apertured bus-bar 65. |
