1,161,036. Aircraft propulsion jet deflection. ENTWICKLUNGSRING SUD G.m.b.H. 12 July, 1967, No. 32167/67. Heading B7G. Two aircraft jet engines 20, 30 arranged sideby-side, e.g. at the tail end of the fuselage, each have an exhaust nozzle 22, 32 deflectable by rotation of jet pipe sections 23 ... 25, 33 . . . 35, the two nozzles being deflected in unison by a drive assembly 40, wherein two motors 170, 180 drive a common gear assembly whose output is transmitted by duplex chains 60, 66. The engine centrelines 26, 36 may be either parallel or inclined to one another. The two motors 170, 180 are fed with electric, hydraulic or pneumatic supply lines 42, and each drive both of two parallel shafts each carrying a sprocket driving one of the chains 60, 66 to rotate one of the jet-pipe sections 23, 33. |
