PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery including a liquid crystal electrolyte having high electrochemical stability, and allowing smooth process of electrochemical reaction.SOLUTION: In a lithium ion secondary battery 10 including, in a container 12, a liquid crystal electrolyte 17 where a cyclic carbonate site and a mesogen site are bonded by an alkyl chain, a separator 14 provided at an intermediate position of the liquid crystal electrolyte 17, and two types of electrode 16, 18 provided on both sides of the liquid crystal electrolyte 17, the liquid crystal electrolyte 17 is once heated until it becomes liquid phase while being held by the electrode 16, 18 in the container 12. |
