PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip resistor capable of improving surge resistance characteristics thereof when reduced in size.SOLUTION: A chip resistor includes: a base material 1 which has a main surface 11 and a rear surface on an opposite side to the main surface, and has a first end part and a second end part; a resistor 4 which is formed on the main surface 11 and has a first end part and a second end part; a first internal electrode 21 which is formed on the main surface and in contact with the first end part of the resistor 4; a second internal electrode 31 which is formed on the main surface 11 and in contact with the second end part of the resistor 4; a first rear surface electrode 23 which is formed on the rear surface and extends to the first end part of the base material 1; and a second rear surface electrode 33 which is formed on the rear surface to be separated from the first rear surface electrode and extends to the second end part of the base material. Each of the first rear surface electrode 23 and the second rear surface electrode 33 has a length L6 of 2/10-3/10 of the length L1 of the base material 1, and the length L6 is longer than the length (L4+L5) of the first internal electrode 21 and the second internal electrode 31. |
