A plough comprises face cutter tools 2, 3, adjustable means to limit the depth of cut of the tools, and a floor-level cutter 11 which is movable about a spindle 17 between a working position, determined by an adjustable stop formed by a lever 16, and a rest position. The tools 2, 3 are movable about axes 4, 5, and are mounted on an element 1 which extends beneath a longwall conveyor. The cutter 11 is secured to an arcuate member 12 having a T- shaped part 13 guided by guides 14a, 14b which are secured to a member 7 forming a ramp 9 leading to the conveyor. The lever 16 pivots about the spindle 17 and is secured in selected positions by a bolt 22, the spindle 17 being disposed in a structure 24 which has mounted thereon a transversely adjustable block 25 acting as the cutting depth limiter for the tools 2, 3. In operation the cutter 11 cuts into the floor to a depth permitted by the lever 16. When the plough is reversed the cutter 11 is moved upwardly, and a stop 30 may be provided to limit this movement. |
