Provided is a method for esterification of alcohols, which comprises the step of: (a) forming a carbene catalyst by mixing an ionic liquid and organic salt; (b) forming an addition by reacting carbondioxide with the carbene catalyst; (c) forming a medium by reacting allyl alcohol with the addition; (d) forming an aldehyde compound and a form acid by a deprotonation and defragment process of the medium; and (e) obtaining an ester product through oxidation and reduction esterification of the aldehyde compound and the allyl alcohol.
