PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and device capable of improving reproduction ability of appearance of an actual product.SOLUTION: A design layer data creation device 100 comprises: a measurement tool 151 for measuring BRDF of a design layer 210 formed of a color coating layer 202 and a clear coat layer 201; and a calculation element 120 for creating the design layer data based on approximation BRDF following to a BRDF model. The calculation element 120 defines the approximation BRDF by determining respective coupling coefficients Ks1, Ks2, and Kd of a mirror surface reflectance distribution function and a diffusion reflectance distribution function. |
