PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more appropriately recover data that is possibly eliminated in data recording processing to which a shingled write recording scheme is applied.SOLUTION: An information recording device according to an embodiment includes: a recording medium including a plurality of data tracks for recording data; and a controller recording management information on recorded data after executing recording such that data recorded subsequently is overwritten on a part of the data recorded on the data tracks. If data is read from the data track on which the data is recorded and an error sector is detected in response to non-recording of the management information, this controller recovers the management information on the recorded data depending on whether or not data in an adjacent sector to the error sector of a second data track can be read by offset read of data in the adjacent sector. Part of the second data track is overwritten by a first data truck having the detected error sector.
