<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to determine whether to discharge toner from a pressure member, on the basis of estimating the amount of toner to be transferred to the pressure member, and to prevent productivity from being reduced more than necessary, while preventing image defect even in discharging the toner.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit for forming a toner image on a recording material; an image heating unit for conveying the recording material held at a nip part between an image heating member and a pressure member, to heat the toner image; calculating means for calculating the amount of toner to be transferred to the pressure member as an estimated value; and determination means for determining whether to discharge the toner from the pressure member, according to the estimated value.</p> |
