PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a component supply device and a component supply method capable of correcting play (a lag angle) until a one-way clutch is engaged, and of feeding a supply tape with accuracy even when a drive direction is changed from normal rotation to reverse rotation or from reverse rotation to normal rotation.SOLUTION: An electronic component supply device comprises: a drive motor provided with a first gear at an output axis of the electronic component supply device and that can rotate in a normal direction and in a reverse direction; two rotation shafts each comprising a one-way clutch therein, comprising a second gear engaged with the first gear at one end part, and rotatably supported by each supporting body; two sprockets each comprising a worm wheel engaged with the worm gears provided in the respective rotation shafts, and engaged with feed holes formed on a housed tape to feed the tape; and an encoder provided on any one of the two rotation shafts or the second gear. In a case where the drive motor rotates in a rotation direction reverse to the prior rotation, the drive of the drive motor is stopped when a position of the rotation shafts detected by the encoder becomes a predetermined amount. |
