<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detector and an electric power steering device which are capable of accurately obtaining a rotation angle of a steering shaft with low power consumption in a state where an ignition of a vehicle is turned off.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device comprises: a rotation angle sensor 33 for generating a rotation angle signal in response to an amount of displacement of a motor shaft rotated by interlocking with a steering shaft; a pulse sensor 89 for generating a pulse signal Son the basis of the displacement of the steering shaft; and a microcomputer 42 for calculating a steering angleθof the steering shaft on the basis of the rotation angle signal. The microcomputer 42 has a calculation mode in which to calculate the steering angleθand a standby mode in which to stand by for receiving the pulse signal S. When an ignition of a vehicle is switched from turning-on to turning-off, the calculation mode is switched to the standby mode, and when the pulse signal Sis recognized, the standby mode is switched to the calculation mode.</p> |
