<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in thermal fixation for a sheet using multiple pieces of fixing means.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming means which transfers developer to a sheet conveyed, to form an image; and a plurality of fixing means for thermally fixing the developer transferred to the sheet by the image forming means. The image forming apparatus determines whether the sheet uses a plurality of fixing means for forming an image. When the determination is affirmative, one fixing means is supplied with power until the number of sheets using the one fixing means for forming an image reaches a predetermined number, while the other fixing means are not supplied with power.</p> |
