PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a wavelength-tunable laser, which can shorten a starting-up time thereof.SOLUTION: A method for controlling a wavelength-tunable laser includes: acquiring a driving condition for laser oscillation of the wavelength-tunable laser at a first wavelength, from a memory; referring a driving condition of the first wavelength and a wavelength difference between the first wavelength and a second wavelength different from the first wavelength to calculate a driving condition for laser oscillation of the wavelength-tunable laser at the second wavelength; driving the wavelength-tunable laser according to a driving condition of the second wavelength and performing feedback control for changing the driving condition of the wavelength-tunable laser according to the difference between a target value and an output of a wavelength detection unit to oscillate the wavelength-tunable laser at the second wavelength; storing a driving condition of the wavelength-tunable laser in the memory, the driving condition being obtained by the feedback control in the oscillation at the second wavelength; and a fifth step of then referring the stored driving condition of the wavelength-tunable laser to drive the wavelength-tunable laser, the driving condition being acquired from the memory. |
