PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiwire processing device and a multiwire processing method capable of suppressing decrease in processing speed.SOLUTION: The multiwire processing device has a cutting wire part 2a obtained by winding a wire 2 multiple times around first to fourth guide rollers 3a-3d and disposing parts of the wire 2 in parallel, and feeds first and second workpieces 8a, 8b toward the cutting wire part 2a while moving the wire 2 in an axial direction, to cut the first and second workpieces 8a, 8b. The multiwire processing device further includes: a position controller 4 for separately controlling distances between the cutting wire part 2a and the respective ones of the first and second workpieces 8a, 8b; and a processing power source 6 for applying pulse voltage between the first and second workpieces 8a, 8b. The position controller 4 makes the second workpiece 8b come in contact with the cutting wire part 2a, to cut the second workpiece by cutting machining, and cuts the first workpiece 8a by electrical discharge machining, with an interval between the first workpiece 8a and the cutting wire part 2a being kept constant. |
