PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for authenticating using the same authentication information even if synchronization timing of the authentication information is shifted in plural apparatuses.SOLUTION: A method includes: determining standby time for executing synchronization of authentication information; executing synchronization of authentication information stored in an IC card authentication server and a multi-function machine in accordance with synchronization reference time and the standby time; authenticating input authentication information in accordance with authentication information stored in the synchronized multi-function machine; and transmitting, in a case where the input authentication information is received within the determined standby time so that authentication is executed by using authentication information that is the same data as for another multi-function machine, an authentication request including authentication information that has been received so as to be authenticated in the IC card authentication server that stores authentication information of plural users, as master data, instead of authenticating on the multi-function machine. |
