PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly detect a temperature of a developer image carrying section in order to improve printing quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a medium includes: a developer image carrying section which carries a developer image; and a transfer section which transfers the developer image onto the medium, while conveying the medium in contact with the developer image carrying section. The image forming apparatus includes: a fan which is arranged upstream or downstream of a contact section between the developer image carrying section and the transfer section, in a medium conveyance direction, to cool a surface temperature of the developer image carrying section; and a temperature detection section which is arranged downstream or upstream of the contact section between the developer image carrying section and the transfer section, in the medium conveyance direction, to detect an atmospheric temperature around the developer image carrying section. |
