PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed detection device capable of preventing a holding member from accidentally coming off a wheel even if a spoke of the wheel is bent or broken.SOLUTION: The vehicle speed detection device has: a holding member 31 which is freely rotatable together with a wheel having a hub 17 at a central part and includes a magnetism generator 30; and a detection body 32 which detects magnetism of the magnetism generator 30. The holding member 31 has: a first holding body 34 including the magnetism generator 30; and a second holding body 35 which opposes an inner side D1 of the first holding body 34. A first clamping part 39 of the first holding body 34 and a second clamping part 52 of the second holding body 35 oppose to each other in an axial direction A, and a flange 23 of the hub 17 is clamped between a first clamping part 39 and a second clamping part 52 in the axial direction A, and the first holding body 34 and the second holding body 35 are connected by a connection member 56.
