<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device including a transmission display panel and a backlight, in which flicker and afterimage are both suppressed.SOLUTION: An image display device includes: light emission means for turning light on and off at a higher frequency than a frame frequency of an image; display means for displaying the image by modulating light from the light emission means based on image data; and control means for controlling an amount of light emission of the light emission means according to a change in brightness of the image. When a second frame image after a first frame image is brighter than the first frame image, the control means delays timing at which the amount of light emission of the light emission means is changed to an amount of light emission depending on the second frame image, with respect to timing at which the second frame image is displayed on the display means.</p> |
