<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of specifying a document size at high precision.SOLUTION: A scanner according to the present invention comprises: plural photometric parts for outputting intensity of light received from a document side; a light emitting part for radiating the light to the document from the photometric part side; a detection part for detecting a state of a document cover covering the document from an opposite side of the photometric part; and a control part at which the photometric parts provided at a determination object position that does not include a position for receiving light with intensity not less than a predetermined first threshold under a first photometric condition that the document cover is opened and the light emission part does not emit light at plural positions at which the photometric parts are provided, specify a document size based on the intensity of the light measured under a photometric condition different from the first photometric condition.</p> |
