The present invention relates to a method, an apparatus and a recording medium for communication between a USB host and a USB device on a network. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for communication between a USB host and a USB device comprises the steps of: allowing a USB host-sided emulator to receive data to be transmitted from the USB host to the USB device; allowing the USB host-sided emulator to encapsulate the received data to a payload of a transmission packet through a network; and allowing the USB host-sided emulator to transmit the encapsulated transmission packet through the network; allowing a USB device-sided emulator to receive the encapsulated transmission packet; allowing the USB device-sided emulator to decapsulate the received transmission packet to extract the data therefrom; and allowing the USB device-sided emulator to transmit the extracted data to the USB device. Therefore, distance constraints can be overcome by enabling communications between USB devices even when the USB devices are not physically connected to each other.
