Method and system for Adaptive Data Transmission based on DLNA network

A method and a system for adaptively transmitting data in a DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) network environment are provided to receive and search a content list in a DMR(Digital Media Render) including the function about the user preference by generating and transmitting the contents list reflecting the user preference. A data transmission system includes a DMS(Digital Media Server)(100), a DMC(Digital Media Controller)(200), and a DMR(300). The DMR provides the characteristic information of an apparatus and reproduces the selected contents. The DMS generates an individual contents list that is the list of the contents reproduced by the DMR based on the characteristic information. The DMS transmits the selected contents among the individual contents list to the DMR. The DMC transmits the characteristic information to the DMS, stores the selected contents among the individual contents list after receiving the individual contents list, and notifies the DMS of the stored contents.
