The present invention provides an inkjet recorder capable of suppressing misalignment in a recording position in a case in which a transfer amount per unit time of a recording medium is changed when printing multiple sets of a recording medium in which an image is recorded; and a method of compensating misalignment in a recording position. A recorder (1) includes a recording unit (5); a transfer unit (13); a recording control unit (17); and a compensation unit (17), when recording an image with respect to each of the multiple sets of the recording medium of same types, determining a compensation value for compensating misalignment in recording positions among multiple nozzle arrays based on an inspection pattern recorded in a preceding region of the recording medium, and using the determined compensation value to compensate the recording positions among the nozzle arrays in a following region of the recording medium. When recording in a front end region of a recording medium set following the preceding recording medium, the compensation unit compensates the misalignment of the recording position using the compensation value used when recording in the preceding recording medium. |
