Method for producing hydrogen by repeated sequential water splitting and methane splitting

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing hydrogen by continuously degrading water and methane. The method for manufacturing hydrogen comprises the steps of (a) putting a solid acid mixture into a reactor; (b) injecting water vapor into the reactor and degrading water by the solid acid mixture to produce hydrogen; and (c) blocking injection of water vapor into the reactor, putting methane into the reactor, and degrading the methane by the solid acid mixture to produce hydrogen. Accordingly, the method for manufacturing hydrogen uses both a mechanism for manufacturing hydrogen by degrading water by solid acid and a mechanism for producing hydrogen by making iron and water react, thereby maximizing water degradation and hydrogen production efficiency. Meanwhile, the method for manufacturing hydrogen has an effect of producing hydrogen by using iron oxide formed in step (b) for a methane degradation process with solid acid, while allowing the iron oxide to be reused by reducing the iron oxide to iron.
