The present invention relates to an organic light emitting diode display and a method for manufacturing the same. An organic light emitting diode display according to the present invention includes a light shield layer formed on a substrate; a buffer layer which covers the light shield layer; a semiconductor layer which covers the light shield layer on the buffer layer; a gate insulating layer which covers the semiconductor layer; a gate electrode which is overlapped with the center part of the semiconductor layer on the gate insulating layer and is connected to the light shield layer; a source electrode which is connected to one side of the semiconductor layer and a drain electrode which is connected to the other side of the semiconductor layer; a protection layer which covers the gate electrode, the source electrode, and the drain electrode; and an organic light emitting diode which touches the drain electrode on the protection layer.
