1,234,361. Electric couplings. MORS MATERIAL. 13 Jan., 1969 [16 Jan., 1968], No. 1842/69. Heading H2E. A contactor consists of an assembly of electrically conductive rings 1 mounted coaxially on support 2 and a further assembly of wipers 6a, 6b in contact with the rings and movable relative to the rings. The wipers which are mounted on posts 4 parallel to the axis of rings and situated on either side of the associated ring comprise two electrically coupled conductive resilient blades having different dimensions, shapes or made of different materials to have different natural frequencies of vibration to avoid breaking of contact due to impact and vibration. Another embodiment of wipers (Fig. 3, not shown) consists of two coupled identical conductive blades (14a, 14b) in association with two resilient backing blades (15a, 15b) constructed to have different natural frequencies of vibration. Support 2 bears conductors 3 and the blades 6a, 6b are connected to conductors 9 via conductive members 8. The invention may consist of a number of concentric series of rings together with posts 4 which may be rigidly secured to a rotating member (e.g. a radar parabola) and when the posts rotate about the axis of the rings, the contacts 11 on the blades slide over the associated rings. |
