The present invention relates to a method for detecting an oriented edge in real time in a new scheme capable of consuming only minimum calculation amount and calculation time. The method for detecting an oriented edge in real time includes: generating a destination image shifted to a first direction and a reference image shifted to a second direction opposite to the first direction by padding an input image in opposite directions, respectively; acquiring a subtraction result image by subtracting the target image and the reference image from each other; and acquiring oriented edge information by removing a padding region of the destination region from the subtraction result image.
