A light source driving method of a light source part which provides light for a display panel displaying an image screen during at least one frame includes the steps of: determining a dimming level controlling brightness of the light on the basis of image data; determining whether the dimming level of a current image screen is a repetitive dimming mode on the basis of a dimming level of a prior image screen; and determining the dimming level of the current image screen as an established fixed dimming level in case the dimming level of the current image screen is in the repetitive dimming mode. The step of determining the repetitive dimming mode may include the steps of: determining whether to change the current image screen by comparing a first dimming level of the current image screen with a second dimming level of the prior image screen; and determining whether to repeat the current image screen by comparing the first dimming level of the current image screen with a third dimming level of an image screen prior to the prior image screen.
