The exchanger has a body (3) defining a central channel (7) surrounded by peripheral channels (10.a, 10.b). A valve assembly, two closing elements and a return element are arranged such that the central channel permits circulation of coolant, and the peripheral channels permit circulation of fluid to be thermally treated. The central channel is laterally defined by a central baffle (5) from which peripheral baffles (9) extend from the peripheral channels. The central channel has two enlarged portions (7.1, 7.2) that are near to a cover.
