Provided is a touch detection device (21, 34) for detecting touching on capacitive touch sensors (26c to 26h, 35a to 35d). The touch detection device (21, 34) is provided with capacitive dummy sensors (11a, 11b, 33a to 33d), a capacitance detection unit (22), and a touch assessment unit (25). When the amount of change in the capacitance of the dummy sensors (11a, 11b, 33a to 33d) exceeds a predetermined assessment value, the touch assessment unit (25) disables the assessment of whether or not touching is present on the touch sensors (26c to 26h, 35a to 35d).
