METHOD FOR PRODUCING ETHANOL

Disclosed is a method for producing ethanol including a step for producing ethanol by culturing yeast, which is transformed so as to present an enzyme on the surface layer thereof, in a culture medium containing a lignocellulose-based biomass, wherein the enzyme contributes to the hydrolysis of the lignocellulose-based biomass. The present invention makes it possible to provide a method for producing ethanol by which it is possible to achieve a high ethanol yield from lignocellulose-based biomass with a lower initial bacterial concentration and added enzyme amount.
