The upper end of a cover (6) is provided at the upper end of a hanger body (2) so as to be capable of rotating in the vertical direction. The cover (6) is adapted to be capable of rotating between a closed position at which the cover (6) abuts on the front surface of the hook (2e) of the hanger body (2) and an open position at which the cover (6) is rotated upward by a predetermined angle from the closed position. When located at the closed position, the cover (6) closes an upper open section (2i) which opens an engagement recess (2j) to the outside. An insertion hole (6g) is provided in the cover (6). The latch (Ja) of a padlock is inserted through both the insertion hole (6g) and the engagement recess (2j). The abutting of the latch (Ja) against the backward facing back surface of the hook (2e) prevents the cover (6) from rotating from the closed position to the open position side.

An article hanger provided with a hanger body (2) attachable to a building frame such as a wall; a hook (2e) provided as a portion of the hanger body (2) in a front surface (2c) of the hanger body (2), the hook (2e) having an upper end separated in a forward direction from the front surface (2c) of the hanger body (2); an engagement recess (2j) formed by the hook (2e) and the front surface (2c) of the hanger body (2), the engagement recess (2j) having a lower portion that is closed, and both right and left side parts that are opened; and an upper open section (2i) which opens an upper portion of the engagement recess (2j) to an outside, the upper open section (2i) being formed above the upper end of the hook (2e), the article hanger comprising:
an anti-theft member (6, 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D) having one end provided at the hanger body (2) so as to be rotatable around an axial line of rotation, the anti-theft member (6, 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D) being capable of rotating between a closed position, where the engagement recess (2j) is closed with respect to the outside, and an opened position, where the engagement recess (2j) is opened to the outside via the upper open section (2i); and an insertion hole (6g) into which a latch (Ja) of a padlock (J) is inserted, the insertion hole (6g) being formed on the anti-theft member (6, 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D), and the insertion hole (6g) being arranged such that rotation of the anti-theft member (6, 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D) from the closed position to the opened position side is prevented by the inserted latch (Ja) abutting the hanger body (2).
